Six Auspicious Stars
The Six Auspicious Stars (Liu Ji Xing) in Zi Wei Dou Shu: Zuo Fu, You Bi, Wen Chang, Wen Qu, Tian Kui & Tian Yue
While the 14 Major Stars define your core temperament, the Six Auspicious Stars supply the real-world levers: capable allies, literary and analytical brilliance, and timely mentor sponsorship.
TianJiGe Editorial TeamUpdated
The Six Auspicious Stars work in three pairs: Zuo Fu & You Bi bring peer support and organizational leverage; Wen Chang & Wen Qu bring academic, contractual, and creative talent; Tian Kui & Tian Yue bring mentor sponsorship and institutional openings. They are strongest when converging in pairs across your Life, Wealth, Career, and Travel palaces or flanking the Life Palace.
Three pairs of stars, three distinct kinds of support
**Zuo Fu & You Bi (Peers & Execution)**: Represent reliable colleagues, partners, deputies, and organizational coordination. Emperor stars like Zi Wei and Tian Fu rely on them to turn vision into team execution.
**Wen Chang & Wen Qu (Scholarship & Expression)**: Wen Chang governs structured study, exams, formal writing, and contracts; Wen Qu governs eloquence, arts, intuition, and adaptable expression.
**Tian Kui & Tian Yue (Visible & Subtle Mentors)**: Represent senior sponsors, institutional favor, and timely introductions that open doors.
Why pairs and flanking (Jia Gong) multiply their power
A single helper star adds a pleasant boost, but meeting a complete pair across your San Fang Si Zheng—or having a pair flank your Life Palace on both sides—elevates the entire chart's ceiling.
Having Tian Kui in Life and Tian Yue in Travel ('Sitting on Nobility, Facing Nobility') is famous for attracting mentor support whenever you step into a new arena.
When Wen Chang or Wen Qu transforms: Hua Ke vs. Hua Ji
When Wen Chang or Wen Qu receives Hua Ke, exams, publications, credentials, and reputation shine.
When either receives Hua Ji, watch closely for contract fine print, paperwork delays, communication misunderstandings, or overthinking.
What Zuo Fu or You Bi in the Marriage Palace actually means
Old folklore sometimes fears Zuo Fu or You Bi in the Marriage Palace as 'outside interference.' In modern life, when the main stars are stable, it frequently indicates meeting your partner through friends or matchmakers, running a business together, or having a socially active spouse—calling for clear boundaries rather than panic.
How to Get Started
- 1Locate Zuo Fu, You Bi, Wen Chang, Wen Qu, Tian Kui, and Tian Yue across your twelve palaces.
- 2Check whether they appear in pairs across your Life, Wealth, Career, and Travel network or flank your Life Palace.
- 3See how they pair with your Major Stars (such as Zi Wei with Zuo/You, or Tai Yang/Tian Ji with Chang/Qu).
- 4Check whether Wen Chang or Wen Qu carries Hua Ke or Hua Ji in your natal or annual chart.
- 5Use 10-year and annual cycles that activate these stars for exams, promotions, and partnerships.
Common Mistakes
- Assuming Zuo Fu or You Bi in the Marriage Palace automatically guarantees infidelity.
- Counting helper stars while ignoring whether the Major Star in the palace is grounded.
- Signing complex contracts carelessly during a Wen Chang or Wen Qu Hua Ji year.
- Waiting passively for Tian Kui or Tian Yue luck without putting your work in front of mentors.
- Feeling doomed if your natal Life Palace lacks helper stars—10-year cycles still rotate through them.
