Liu Yao Online Casting

Traditional Liu Yao uses three coins thrown six times, stacking lines from bottom to top. Online casting simply moves the random process into the system.

Before casting, quiet down and write the question clearly. A focused question creates a more useful reading.

Some worry that online casting is 'less spiritual.' In practice, sincerity, question clarity, and disciplined reading matter more than coins versus screen.

The original hexagram shows the current structure; moving lines show where change is happening; the changed hexagram suggests where the matter may move.

No moving line suggests a steadier situation. Many moving lines mean more change, so priority matters.

At entry level, read the original for the situation, moving lines for the shift, and the changed hexagram for direction before diving into relatives and useful god.

Full Liu Yao judgment sets up the chart: self/other, six relatives, useful god, strength, control, combination, void, month and day support.

Reading only the hexagram name or text is fine for entry-level understanding, but not enough for detailed outcome and timing.

Self/other marks the relationship, relatives map to categories of affairs, and the useful god fixes what you asked about. Together they move the chart from image to matter.

Online Liu Yao works poorly with vague questions. 'How is my luck?' is weak; 'Can this project sign this week?' or 'What should I watch in this conversation?' is stronger.

Name the counterpart, time frame, and decision you need. If the useful god cannot be fixed, the rest of the chart is easier to misread.

If you have not decided whether you want to act, the cast may mainly reflect hesitation rather than a clean advance-or-wait answer.

It suits concrete, present, targetable questions: whether a collaboration can move forward, whether an opportunity is worth pursuing, what to watch in a near-term conversation.

It is less suited to huge life questions. Long-term character and life-stage themes belong more naturally to Ba Zi or Zi Wei.

Love, money, travel, exams, and disputes can all be asked—but one matter per cast keeps the answer usable.

After casting, record the original, moving, and changed hexagrams and read the texts against your question type. For detail, set up self/other, relatives, and the useful god.

If the reading feels disconnected from reality, check whether the question was too broad or whether you cast repeatedly on the same matter.

Divination helps you see advance, retreat, and timing—it does not replace decision. One small next action is more useful than memorizing a luck label.
