How to Read Parents in Ba Zi

People want health, character, even lifespan of parents from their own Four Pillars. What the chart holds is the relationship: whether early home was a supply station or an exam hall, whether you could borrow strength, whether the tone is close or distant.

A parent's own chart is still the right tool for their career and body. Hours are often missing, so readers fall back to the child's chart for one layer: 'the bond on my side.' Limited data means shorter sentences.

Old books stamp 'harm father, harm mother' too freely. A modern reading is tighter relationship, less backup, or a few years when family work piles up. Divorce, two cities, long absence can also look like 'not in view'—not death.

Year leans ancestry, native tone, the childhood base. Month is the command and the parent palace, overlapping siblings. Read these two before Day and Hour.

When year and month generate each other and parent stars are useful, someone could teach and hold, or at least leave a set of rules. Clash and control look like a twisted house style: someone governs, someone pushes back, help arrives with friction.

Heavy Companions on the year stem controlling Wealth is classically a squeeze on the father theme; Wealth in the year branch controlling Resource, a squeeze on the mother theme. That is pressure direction. It is not a funeral notice.

Both Direct and Indirect Resource showing is often written as birth mother plus stepmother. Steadier: more than one feeding source—grandmother, step-parent, boarding, school. Do not use one star to name private family facts.

Wealth or Resource under clash often means tight talk, care load, or a rewrite of who pays. A childhood Companion cycle on a strong self is classically hard on the father theme—in life it may be early independence, little paternal backup, or a man of the house who was always away.

Favorable Resource wrecked by Wealth: study and elder support get squeezed by bills. Favorable Wealth robbed by Companions: household means do not land in your hands; you earn them.

Luck years that activate year, month, Wealth, or Resource can mean a move, a split of the house, going home to care, or a shift in a father's work. Put that on a calendar. Better than memorizing maxims.

Illness, conflict, and legal problems belong to doctors and ordinary handling. Ba Zi does not read lab sheets and cannot make the phone call.

Leave with acts: visits this year, how money and care split, whether one old sentence needs saying. A thin bond is not always a finished bond. Sometimes it is one generation of speech in between.

If they are living, their charts and their choices outweigh one Wealth or Resource star on yours. Yours only shows how you were raised, how you give back, and where you tend to lock horns.
